Madhushala exists beneath the surface of our senses, free from influence and effort, revealing a world of absolute beauty. Here lies a vast ocean of memories and subliminal images, calm and clear. Diving deeper, one encounters the Self, the source of originality and pure imagination, from which ideas are born. Emerging refreshed and inspired, energy is channeled to give expression to these visions. In doing so, they often attract people with a similar vision, creating a collaborative space. This expanse is Madhushala: an opportunity to dream and play, to discover and explore, to build and break, and to share and be inspired by each other. Madhushala was initiated by Prasanna Morey in 2009, and Divya Jyoti joined as a partner in 2012. The practice operates with an open-ended philosophy, driven by nature, research, and experiments. It seeks to redefine the concept of ‘modern’ and blends it with the essence of a ‘bygone era.’ Through experimentation, they create a language of lines, planes, and volumes, using light, textures, and authentic materials within the constraints of budget and context, extending the idea of impermanence into their work. Madhushala strongly believes that architecture is not simply the manipulation of forms. It is the creation of space and, above all, the construction of a ‘place’ that serves as the foundation for that space. In all their works, light plays a decisive role in forming space, awakening architecture to life. Their objective is to breathe life into architecture, nurture it to respond appropriately to the traditional and natural environment, and ensure it provides a respectable livelihood to those who bring it to life.
