Nitis Sthapitanonda is the Deputy Managing Director at Architect 49 Limited, one of Thailand’s leading architectural practices. After earning his Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida in 1999 and his Master of Architecture from Columbia University in 2002, he began his career at the San Francisco office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP. In 2003, Nitis returned to Thailand to join A49, contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects across Asia, including large-scale mixed-use developments, private residences, high-rise condominiums, and numerous hotels and resorts. In 2006, he helped establish A49’s Phuket branch office and took on the role of Deputy Managing Director, while maintaining an active leadership role at the firm’s main office. He was further elevated to Deputy Managing Director of A49 in 2024. Beyond practice, Nitis has made significant contributions to the architectural community, serving on the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Association of Siamese Architects from 2004 to 2016, and continuing as a member of the Subcommittee on Foreign Affairs for the Architect Council of Thailand since 2004.
