Carl Almeida is an Indian by birth with Australian nationality, residing in Bangkok for the past 23 years, where he is Managing Partner at P49 Deesign, an international design company specializing in interior design for hospitality projects. P49 Deesign, established over 30 years ago, is the largest specialist interior design firm in Thailand with a team in Bangkok & Shanghai working on numerous hospitality projects worldwide in regions across India, China, Australia, Asia, the Middle East and Africa and in places as far as Tahiti, French Polynesia. Carl Graduated with dual degrees of Bachelor of Architectural Studies and Bachelor of Architecture, both from the University of Adelaide, South Australia. He had been practicing Architecture and Interior Architecture for 13 years previously in Australia, and now 23 years in Thailand focusing solely on Interior design. At P49 Deesign, Carl is responsible for creative direction, business development and overall execution of hospitality projects in numerous countries throughout the world. He continues designing hotels and resorts for the world’s foremost hotel operators including Accor, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Hilton, Marriott International, Hyatt and Taj to name a few. Some of his key projects with P49 Deesign include Fairmont Hotels in Mumbai and Agra; Raffles Udaipur; Taj Amer Jaipur; Taj Delhi International Airport; Leela palace Resort Jaipur; Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok; W Muscat; Trisara Phuket; Sofitel Adelaide; Intercontinental Phu Quoc; Marriott Bangkok; Hilton Songjiang; Alila Jabal Akhdar Oman; Indigo Seminyak Bali; Renaissance Beijing; Indigo Anji China; and The Amara a new luxury hotel in Phnom Penh Cambodia.
