Amrita Guha is the Founding Partner at Untitled Design, a New Delhi-based award-winning, multidisciplinary design practice that has defined innovation and excellence in architecture and interior design for over two decades. The firm works closely with artisans and craftsmen to revive and reinterpret indigenous and dying craft forms, embedding rich cultural elements into every project. Rather than focusing on a single craft, the studio consciously works to educate the urban elite by featuring various traditional practices of skilled artisans in a contemporary avatar. Drawing from the ethos of Untitled Design and taking it forward to the realm of product design, Amrita, along with partner Joya Nandurdikar, launched Furgonomics in 2022 — a product design brand that combines high-quality global techniques with local materials, traditional craftsmanship, and collaborations with artists to create bespoke designs that blend luxury with cultural significance. Their journey is profoundly anchored in the art-making process, demonstrated through their annual workshops with artisans, where they seamlessly weave local craftsmanship into every project. After graduating from Vaastu Kala Academy, New Delhi and Rachna Sansad, Mumbai, Amrita began her design journey in 2000, working with well-known architects and product designers such as Alex Davis and Jyoti Punj from The Inside Story. Initially, she attempted to balance functionality with extravagance and luxury; however, her rational temperament led her towards minimalism, which has since become a core influence in her work. Since co-founding Untitled Design, Amrita has designed and curated over 500 residential spaces, each imbued with a distinct and unique touch. Over time, her practice has expanded from traditional interior design to encompass her role as a creative director, shaping design across interiors, products, lighting, and styling at both Untitled Design and Furgonomics.
